Privacy Policy
Modern Blinds ("we," "our," or "us") operates a window treatments consultation and installation service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you interact with our services.
Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of personal information:
- Name, phone number, email address, and physical address provided through consultation request forms, showroom visits, or phone inquiries
- Appointment and scheduling details
- SMS message records related to appointment confirmations and updates
- Service preferences and product selections
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to:
- Schedule and confirm consultations and installations
- Send reminders, updates, or rescheduling options via SMS
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Process orders and manage service delivery
- Improve our services and customer experience
- Deliver relevant advertising and measure ad performance on platforms such as Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram), including creating audiences of similar potential customers
SMS Communications
By providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages related to your appointments and services. Message frequency is typically 1–2 messages per appointment. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying "STOP" to any message.
Data Protection
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Your data is stored securely and access is limited to authorized personnel only.
Advertising & Analytics
We use cookies, tracking pixels, and similar technologies provided by Google and Meta to understand how visitors interact with our website and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. This includes:
- Google Ads & Google Analytics: We use Google's conversion tracking and analytics services to measure ad performance and understand website traffic. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel: We use Meta's tracking pixel and Conversions API to measure ad effectiveness and deliver relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.
- Customer Match / Custom Audiences: We may upload hashed (encrypted) customer contact information — such as email addresses and phone numbers — to Google Ads and Meta to deliver targeted advertising, exclude existing customers from acquisition campaigns, and create audiences of people with similar characteristics. Your original data is not stored by these platforms; only encrypted identifiers are used for matching.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings and Meta Ad Preferences.
Information Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only with:
- Service providers who assist in our operations (e.g., SMS delivery services)
- Advertising platforms (Google, Meta) in hashed form for ad targeting and measurement purposes, as described in the Advertising & Analytics section above
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, update, or request deletion of your personal data
- Withdraw consent for SMS communications by replying "STOP"
- Request information about how your data is being used
Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA)
If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) provides you with additional rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Know: You may request confirmation of whether we are processing your personal data and access a copy of that data.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal data we have collected about you.
- Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Right to Opt Out: You may opt out of the processing of your personal data for purposes of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
- Right to Data Portability: You may request your personal data in a portable and readily usable format.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): We honor the GPC browser signal as a valid opt-out request under the TDPSA. When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we automatically suppress advertising tracking pixels and cookies on our website.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: We do not sell your personal information. We share hashed (encrypted) customer data with advertising platforms (Google, Meta) for ad targeting and measurement. You may opt out of this sharing by unchecking the consent checkbox on our forms, enabling GPC in your browser, or contacting us directly.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:
- Customer Records: Active customer data (name, contact information, order history) is retained for the duration of our business relationship and for up to 5 years after your last transaction for warranty and service purposes.
- Advertising Data: Click identifiers (gclid, fbclid), hashed contact information used for ad measurement, and conversion records are retained for up to 24 months from collection. After this period, advertising identifiers are deleted and records are excluded from audience uploads to advertising platforms.
- Lead Information: If you submit a form but do not become a customer, your contact information is retained for up to 12 months to follow up on your inquiry, after which it is archived.
- Analytics Data: Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics data may be retained indefinitely for business analysis.
You may request earlier deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
